DIED - CHAPIN- In River Falls Oct. 15, 1878 (*see note below) of consumption, Albert B. Chapin age 62 years.
Deceased was born in Ogdensburg, St. Lawrence county, New York on 13th day of April, A.D. 1816. In the year 1842 he was united in marriage to Miss Sylvia J. Hill, of Antwerp, Jefferson county, New York. For several years he was connected with a brother in the foundry business in Ogdensburg; but his health failing, he retired from the business. Twelve years since he came to Wisconsin and settled in the eastern part of this township where he lived until the time of his death. In the spring of 1842 he united with the Baptist Church and although he has been for any years in feeble health and at times suffered greatly, yet he has maintained a cheerful, consistent christian character, and during his last illness he found the consolations of religion to be precious, and his end was peace.
A large concourse of old friends and neighbors, by who, he was held in high esteem attended his funeral.
He leaves a wife, three sons,a daughter and a host of friends to mourn his loss. River Falls Journal, 11-21-1878
