CUBA CITY, Wis. -- Stanley T. Runde, 59, of Cuba City, passed away Friday April 9, 2010, at his home surrounded by his family and friends, after his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 12, at St. Rose Catholic Church, Cuba City, with the Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery, Cuba City. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today and after 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cuba City, is in charge of arrangements.
He was born on April 15, 1950, in Cuba City, son of Donald and Violet (Hoppenjan) Runde. He was a graduate of Cuba City High School.
He married June Ehrler on April 24, 1971, in Galena, Ill.
Stanley worked at John Deere Dubuque Works, retiring in 2003 after 33 years of service.
He was an avid fan of the Wisconsin Badgers, Green Bay Packers, and Milwaukee Brewers. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, craft painting and the love of his grandchildren. Stanley will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving are his wife, June; his mother, Violet; three sons, Chris (Beth) Runde, of Belmont, Chad (Becky) Runde, of Onalaska, and Chip (Sam) Runde, of Rochester, Minn.; like a daughter-in-law, Joyce (Mark) Donar, of Cuba City; four brothers, Tim (Candy) Runde, Ted (Mary) Runde, Bill (Joan) Runde and Roger (Meryl) Runde, all of Cuba City; three sisters, Donna (Dwight) Eggers and Diane Kiley, both of Cuba City, and Mary Kay (Reuben) VonGlahn, of Belmont; four grandchildren, Emery, Dylan, McKenzie and Alea Runde; and four like-grandchildren, Justin, Megan, JJ and Josh Donar.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald; and a sister, Dawn.
