Dorothy Morgan
Former Colony resident Dorothy Bell Morgan died Wednesday, April 21, 1999, at Allen County Hospital at the age of 94.
She was born Oct 18, 1904, at Iola, the daughter of Fred and Nora Drake Baker. She was a graduate of Iola High School. She was a member of Salem Chapter No. 4 Order of the Eastern Star and Social Order of Beauceant.
She was baptized in the Humboldt United Methodist Church.
On Feb. 22, 1930, she married Lloyd E. Morgan. They lived in several communities before moving to Kansas City in 1953. In 1959 they moved to Bellflower, Calif. They moved to Colony in 1970. He died Sep. 28, 1983.
She had lived at Pincrest Nursing Home at Humboldt since her health failed.
Survivors include a son, Jim of Kansas City; two daughters, Kathryn Tilman of Humboldt and Ruth Douglas of Sun City, Calif.; a sister, Christina Card of Moran; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildred; and four step great-grandchildren.
An infant son, a son, Robert, a grandson, Craig Morgan, and two great-grandchildren died earlier.
The Rev. Peggy Hillmon will officiate at the 10:30 am Monday funeral services at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel. Burial will be in Colony Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Humboldt United Methodist Church.
Family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
