Donald Anderson, 76, of 534 North Humboldt St., Marine, Illinois, died Monday, February 8, 1988, at a hospital in Highland, Illinois. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 11, at Halleman Funeral Home in Marine with Rev. C. Miller Hurst of the First Christian Church officiating. Interment was at Valley View Gardens of Memory Garden of Faith at Edwardsville, Illinois.
Mr. Anderson was born December 15, 1911, at Correctionville, Iowa, the son of Claude and Bertha Coon Anderson. He farmed with his family until he married Mildred W. Custer March 26, 1932, at Sioux City. Following his marriage he entered the heavy equipment field as an operating engineer. They moved to O'Fallon, Illinois, in 1953, and to Marine in 1962, where his widow still resides. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 520, Granite City, Illinois, and a former member of the Marine Sportsmen's Club.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred, one daughter, Mrs. Standley (Karen) Klein, Marine, Illinois, three brothers, Orville of Richland, Washington, Clifford of Camden, Arkansas, and Lowell of Marine, three grandsons, Donald & Barry Klein both of Troy, Illinois, and Darren Klein of Highland, and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
