John Norvell Caskie was born in to one of the wealthiest families in Virgina, the Caskies, however his parents died when he was very young. It appears he was raised by his grandfather John Norvell Caskie More to be written.

John Norvell Caskie married Sarah Pritchartt They had two daughters, one Norvell and the other named Emma Armistead Russell (EAR) who died young. John was an accountant in St. Louis with his own business. He is interred in same grave with infant grandson named Caskie Munger. Emma, his daughter is buried next to him.

Note: John Norvell Caskie was the son of John Norvell Caskie and Emma Armistead Russell, and grandson of John Caskie and Martha Norvell. Both his parents died when he was only 2 and he was raised by grandfather John. He may have been the only surviving child from this union. We believe he had an uncle much influenced by Col Robert Alexander Caskie also known as "Hermit of Wabash".

The hermit of Wabash aka Robert Alexander Caskie would be uncle to John Norvell Caskie. Probably raised with him like a son. They both speculated in tobacco.
