Born in Shelbyville, Shelby County, Indiana, he moved with his parents and siblings to Howell County, Missouri about 1890-1892.
He and my grandmother were married in June 1905 at Cureall, Missouri. Their first child, my father, William Adam (Bill) Arnold, was born on June 4th, 1907 in West Plains, Missouri. Three more children (Clint, Nadine, and Nelson) followed.
My grandpa had been employed by the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas. He retired from his position there in the early 1940s. He had been the street sweeper back in the days when he used a horse and cart to do his job.
He was preceded in death by his wife to whom he had been married for almost 62 years before her passing and three of his four children.
He was survived by his daughter, 14 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and many, many nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with a host of friends.
Funeral services were held in both Jonesboro, AR with Major Robert Miller of The Salvation Army officiating and in Pottersville Baptist Church at Pottersville, Howell County, MO. Grandpa, you are very much loved and missed by all.
