Oscar Marion Knapp
Oscar Marion Knapp, son of ithamar adn Melvina Knapp was born December 10, 1881, near Elroy, Wisc. He passed away at the Allen County Hospital, October 1, 1969, at the age of 87 years, 10 months and 21 days.
With his parents he moved to Vernon at an early age. He has spent most of his life in and around the Vernon and Yates Center communities.
He was married to Mable Harper on September 27, 1903. To this union were born three children, Clarence, Clarice and Clark.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Clarence, a granddaughter, Mary Sue Dutro, five brothers and four sisters.
His survivors include the widow, Mable, and daughter, Clarice Dutro, of Clearwater, son Clark of Yates Center, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, two sisters, Beatrice Mitchell of Yates Center and Agnes Jagger of Garden Grove, Calif.
Funeral services were held in his memory at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 4, from the H. R. Campbell & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Johnson officiating. Casketbearers were Calvin Brodman, Oran Reiter, Floyd Patterson, Harry Theobald, Claude Woodruff and Charles Walker, Jr. Interment was in the Yates Center Cemetery.
