She was born Nov. 12, 1901, at the ranch home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Brainard, near Maudlow. She attended the Durham School at Dry Creek and was graduated from Gallatin County High School in 1920. She was married to Vance Bright at Bozeman on Dec. 20, 1923. The Brights farmed in the Belgrade vicinity until his death in 1960. Mrs. Bright had made her home in Bozeman at 502 West Story since the death of her husband. Mrs. Bright has been employed at the university library from 1961 until June 1 of this year.
Mrs. Bright was a past matron of Belgrade Chapter, Order of Eastern Star; a member of Acacia White Shrine No. 7, and was a member of the Middle Creek Woman’s Club for many years.
Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Laura Brainard of Bozeman; a son, Jack, of Fort Peck; four sisters, Bess Reinhardt of Manhattan, Mrs. Adolf (Hazel) Favero of Billings; Mrs. Bud (Doris) Sandquist of Bozeman and Mrs. Ray (Eldean) Rempel of Tacoma, Wash.; five brothers, Harry and William D. Brainard of Manhattan, Bud and Walter Brainard of Maudlow and Lester of Seattle, Wash.; four grandsons and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband, a son, Keith, and a sister, Mrs. Verne (LauraBelle) Blankenship, preceded her in death.
The body is at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
