She was born December 18, 1902 in Chicago, the daughter of Neil and Emogene Van Wie.
She graduated from Genoa High School in 1921 and had been a resident of Elgin since 1947. She was employed by Urology Ltd. for 18 years, retiring in 1972. She was Past Matron of Golden Star Chapter # 359 O.E.S. of Genoa, Bethel Guardian of Jobs Daughters Bethel No. 6, Senior Custodian of Jobs Daughters of the State of Illinois for one year and member of Bethel Chapter 291 O.E.S. and Elgin Chapter 212 O.E.S. of Elgin.
Survivors include two daughters, Pat (Ralph) Binnie of Gooselake, Iowa and Pam (Michael) Kuzynowski of Elgin; five grandsons; two great grandsons; and a great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward in 1958; and a brother, George Van Wie.
Private graveside services will be held in Genoa Cemetery.
There will be no visitation. Laird Funeral Home in Elgin is in charge of services.
