"Mrs Augusta Ericson, [nee] Johnson, and daughter of Master tailor, Gustaf Johnson, in Jernäs parish, Småland, was born in 1865. She came to a sister in America, Mrs. Blomquist, in Austin, Texas, in 1891. She married Erik Edward Ericson in 1898. He was born in Malexander parish in Östergötland in 1858 and came to Illinois from Sweden in 1878. He moved 5 years later to Cheyenne County, Nebraska. [His first marriage was to] Mathilda Swenson... in 1890 and with her had a daughter, Emma. [The first] Mrs. Ericson died in Elgin, Texas, in 1896. In 1898, he married Augusta. In this marriage are born: Gilbert, Daniel, Elof and Natanael. The family lived for the first year by Lund, where they owned a farm. About 1905 they sold it and bought the property in Elroy on which they now live. Mr. Ericson passed away in Elroy in 1915.
The family belongs to the Lutheran congregation in Elroy."
