Funeral services for Imogene HENDRIX, 80, of Gans, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Agent Chapel in Sallisaw with the Rev. Curtis Bias officiating. Burial was in Gans Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. HENDRIX was born Sept. 2, 1927, in Van Buren, Ark., to George L. COOKSEY and Estella (FRANKLIN) COOKSEY. She died Thursday, July 24, 2008, in Fort Smith, Ark. She married Watie L. HENDRIX, July 8, 1946, in Fort Smith. He preceded her in death, March 1, 1994, in Fort Smith. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Johnny, and Carolyn and Carl, and Sherry and Doug; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Cindy; nine grandchildren; one adopted grandchild; one sister, Geneva; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon HENDRIX. Sequoyah County Times
