Tommy Hylton, 67, a Raymark Corp. retiree, formerly of Manheim, died Tuesday morning at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Salem. Va., after a brief illness.

A resident of Box 107, Allisonia R2; Virginia, he was the husband of
Frances Weaver Hylton.

A native of Carroll County, Va., Hylton had resided in Manheim until 1981, when he moved back to Virginia. He had worked as a fireman in the boiler house at the former Raybestos—Manhattan Inc. now the
Raymark Corp. He retired in 1981 with 42 years service.

A .S. Army veteran of World War II, Hylton served in France and Central Europe. He received the Good Conduct Medal and the European, African and Middle East service medal with five Bronze Stars and one Bronze Arrowhead.

Born in Carroll County, Va., he was a son of the late Lisco and
Susanna Reece Hylton.

Surviving besides his wife are three daughters: Virginia Knier, York; Doris Zellers, Elizabeth; and Marlene Steffy, Manheim; two sons: Tommy Lee, Lebanon; and Richard E. Wenger, Manheim; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three brothers: Abey L. and Troy, both of Allisonia; and Archie, Christiansburg, Va.
