John Miscal Dyke enlisted in the Civil War August 12,1864 and served part time under Gen.Colbert as a private in company A,49th Regiment of Missouri Infantry,and received his honorable discharge June 9,1865.

My Great Grandfather PVT John M Dyke enlisted in the Civil War and fought for the North.
I,on the other hand am a"True Southern Girl"whose roots are deeply grounded in the South.
Whatever the reason John decided to enlist with the North,he did so because this is what he believed in.
