DALRYMPLE, Madeleine J., Friends all called her "Maddie",, 75, of Pinellas Park, passed away Nov. 29, 2007. She was born in New Bedford, MA, moved to Florida in 1957, living in St. Petersburg for 3 years before moving to Pinellas Park in 1960. During the 60s she discovered the sport of bowling and became actively involved in all aspects of the game. She bowled in many leagues over the years, most recently in the Women's Brunch Club, The Women's Senior Stars and the Fla. Mixed Sr. Stars. She was also secretary for three of those leagues. She was secretary of the St. Pete Women's Bowling Association for the last 35 years. She was voted into the St. Pete Women's Hall of Fame in 1981, voted secretary of the year in Florida State Women's Bowling Association in 1982, and received a plaque from the WIBC for attending 30 consecutive National Conventions as a delegate and bowling in 30 consecutive National Tournaments. Over the years she helped her teammates win many trophies as well as a few individual awards. Maddie was still bowling in a league play 2 weeks before her passing. Maddie is survived by her husband of 52 years, David L.; a son, Barry; a brother, Walter of Sun Lakes, Arizona; 3 sisters, Mary Baptista of New Bedford, MA, Doris Kerr of Freetown, MA, and Ethel Nelson, of Framingham, MA; and several nieces and nephews. I believe Maddie made a difference while she was here. One of her best assets was her knack for making friends. She will be missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to PARC, P.O. Box 47799, St. Petersburg, FL 33743. Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 1, from 5-8 pm at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home -Tyrone Chapel, 7820 38th Ave. N., St. Petersburg, where a service will be held Sunday, Dec. 2, at 3 pm.
