In 1963 he and his family moved to Leesburg and purchased Haines Creek Cottages. As a residential developer, he built Bonfire Mobile Village in Leesburg and Riverview Mobile Estates in Homosassa. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Leesburg, a former member of the Elks Club, Lake County Gator Club and the Quarterback Club of Leesburg. Surviving is his wife of 66 years, Blanche; children, Jenann "Nan" (Don) Sisemore of Bradenton, Steve (Karen) of Dothan, AL; Dr. R. Kim (Michele) of Leesburg and Tammi (Robert) Green (Robert) of Trinity, FL; 11 grandchildren, Scott (Kelly) Dressel, Kellie (Rob) Viera, Allyson (Allen) Dozier, Stephen, Jr (Katherine)Chip Dressel, Lauren (Will) Bigham, Wesley, Shannon and Brian Etheredge, Sydney and Zachary Green and 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services and burial will be at Liberty Baptist in Pansey, AL. Arrangements by Byers Funeral Home in Leesburg.
