Cumberland, MD - Charles Andrew Bennett, 60, of Cumberland, MD, died Sunday, December 15, 2002, at the WMHS Memorial Campus Hospital. Born, January 13, 1942, in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of the late Gaul Willard Bennet and Daisy Marie Casteel.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Judith Ann (Wheeler) Bennett, November 10, 1997. Mr. Bennett was retired from the City of Cumberland, Maintenance Department with the Cumberland City Police Department. He was also a member of the Cumberland Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie, #245. He was a graduate of Fort Hill High School, Class of 1960. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane (Karns) Bennett; his brothers, Gerald Bennett, Luther, MI; Virgil R. Bennett, Cumberland, MD; Robert W. Bennett and his wife, Mary, Cumberland, MD; and Ronald Bennett and his wife, Helen, Burlington, WA; and several nieces and nephews. Friends were received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A. 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Wednesday, December 18, 2002, from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M., and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. A funeral service was conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, December 19, 2002, at 11:00 A.M., with the Reverend Sherrill Dillon officiating. Interment was in Davis Memorial Cemetery.
