Services for Effie E. (Hurst) Buster, 81, were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January28, 2003, at the First Baptist Church in Porter with the Rev. Henry Stahl officiating. Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery, Porter. Pallbearers were Mike Yochum, Steve Staner, Jim Shieldnight, Charley Bright, Roy Cole and Charlie Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Albert Lang, Jr., Charles Boyd, H. V. Roberts, Jerry Buster and Marvin Lindsey.
Mrs. Buster died Saturday January 25, 2003 at her home in Porter. She was born December 18, 1921 in Wagoner and attended Star School. She married Vache Buster and they made their home in the Porter area. Mrs. Buster was active in her community, volunteering at the community center and in activities at the First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was a cook for the Porter School System before retirement.
She is survived by her children; Linda, Tommie, Jim and Judy; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one sister and two brothers. She is preceded in death by her husband, Vache Buster; her father Jeff Hurst and mother Bertha Bookout Hurst Dorr.
