At rest Saturday, December 9, 2000 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Emerzia E. (nee) Domm Shroba. Father of Susan (James) Barello and Joseph (Karin) Shroba of Fort Collins, Colorado, Jamie (Timothy) Jevitz and Traci (Thomas) McClintock. eight grandchildren, Julie and Nick Barello, T.J., Kelsie, Ryan and McKensie Jevitz, Alexa and Tanner McClintock, one sister, Anne (John) Zak, two brothers, Thomas (Marie) and John (the late Charlotte) Shroba, one sister-in-law, Mary (the late Aloysius) Shroba. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Lynn and granddaughter, Gina Barello, parents, Ignatz and Kristine (nee) Sula Shroba, three brothers, Aloysius Shroba and two brothers in infancy. Joseph was born in Joliet and was a life long resident. He was a professional baseball pitcher with the St. Louis Cardinals organization, was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Air Force, was a long time employee of the E.J. and E. Railroad, Local Chairman, United Transportation Union retiring in 1982. Member of Rivals Club, Will County Old Timers Baseball Association and the American Legion # 5.

   From where funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2000 at 9 :30 AM to St. Cyril and Methodins Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Interment St. Cyril Cemetery. Visitation Monday from 4 to 8 PM.
