'Howard I. Esterline, 92, of Adrian passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at Grand Court. Howard was born Nov. 13, 1917, in Jonesville, Mich., the youngest son of Elwood and Alida (Renner) Esterline. During World War II, he served his country in the Army. On July 8, 1942, Howard married Kathryn E. Luke in Palo Alto, Calif. Kathryn, his wife of more than 67 years, survives. Howard worked for Consumer Power Company when he returned from service. For several years, he was the co-owner of Industrial Wood Products, which he sold in 1963. He then worked as a Juvenile Detective for the Lenawee County Sheriff's Department, where he also served in the mounted division. Howard retired from Bixby Hospital as their Personnel Director. Howard truly enjoyed being with his family. He loved fishing and playing golf. He was a member of the Lenawee Country Club. Howard is survived by two sons, ( ), both of Manitou Beach; four grandchildren, ( ); and seven great-grandchildren, ( ). He was preceded in death by a brother, Cleo Esterline. At Howard's request, cremation will take place. Private graveside services will be held at Lenawee Hills Memorial Park.'
