Jimmy Duane Griffith, 70, formerly of Big Spring, died Thursday, May 21, 2009, in Hamilton, Ohio.
While living in Big Spring, he was employed by the Cosden Refinery, then drove a truck for several businesses in the Big Spring area. He moved to Pecos in August of 1971 and drove for East Texas Motor Freight until transferred to Ohio with ABF in September 1982. He retired in 2000.

He was preceded in death by his parents, D.H. "Bub" and Ireba Griffith, and previous wife, LaDonna Rae Gunter Griffith.

His survived by his wife of 37 years, Dorothy Butler Griffith of Fairfield, Ohio; six children, Jimmy and Theresa Griffith of Hamilton, Ohio, Jody and Tammy Griffith of Coahoma, Tracy Griffith of Big Spring, Glenn and Gail Moore of Arlington, Garry and Neth Moore of Princeton, Texas, and Lucy and Louis Lara of Pecos; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Family and friends visitation will be held at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home in Pecos from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2009. Burial will be at Mount Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
