Son of Lucinda Hall and Jesse Lowther. In 1842, Mr. Lowther went to Freeborn Co, MN, and for some years was engaged in homesteading and farming in the vicitinty of Albet Lea. He subsequently returned to WV, and settled in Doddridge County, where he passed the remainder of his life as a tiller of the soil and died in 1915, at the age of seventy-six years. He married Rachel F. Randolph Lowther, who died before him. They were the parents of nine children.
