"Was a resident of Falls village of Farmington, ME. He served acceptably as messenger of the Senate of Maine for several years, and was captain of the South Company of Infantry in the Militia, and was a citizen much respected for his worth." Increase III was a drum maker in Farmington Falls, ME during the civil war and owned Increase Blake Co. (See attached photos of his civil war drums!) He is also listed as Post Master for Farmington Falls, ME. as noted in a list in 1852.

Increase Blake III was the only adult male son of Thomas Dawes Blake to live his life in and be buried in Maine. He was also the only son without a middle name! In fact if you go back through the three Increase Blake's in the Blake Family Tree, none had a middle name!
