Funeral services for Charles A. Wilcox, who passed away Friday at the home of his son in Osceola, were held Sunday afternoon at the Goodrich Chapel with Rev. M.L. Smith officiating. Burial was in the Yeater Cemetery under the direction of the Goodrich Funeral Home.
Mr. Wilcox, only son of Henry and Elizabeth Wilcox, was born in Henry County, February 1, 1873, moving with his parents to St. Clair County when a small child and spending the remainder of his life here.
On September 13, 1899, he was united in marriage to Maggie A. Bourland, who preceded him in death in 1935. To this union four children were born. On February 28, 1942, he married Dolly Hoover and is survived by his wife and four children, Mrs. Virgil Postlewait, Roscoe, Mo., Sullivan Wilcox, Osceola, Mo., Sylvia Grower, Kansas City, Mo., Coleman C. Wilcox, Sherman Oaks, California; 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. C.F. Seymour, several nieces and nephews.
He was converted and later sanctified during a revival meeting in a brush arbor conducted by the late Bros. Cook and Spaur. He had been in poor health for the past several years, being bedfast for the past 10 months.
