Bartlett Franklin Graves is the son of Bartlett Lane Graves and Mary Elizabeth [Wilfley] Graves. He had at least eight siblings.

He came to Sonoma County before 1893. His sister, Laura G. Graves was living with him and his family in 1900, so she might have accompanied him when he moved to Sonoma county from Missouri.

Bartlett married Kitty Ann Hornbuckle in about 1893.

The couple had three children:

Ethelyn Pauline Graves 1894-1966
Zenophan Bartlett Graves 1896-1954
Lorene M Graves 1899-1963

In 1900, the family was living in Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, CA. Bartlett sold second hand goods.

Bartlett died in 1901 at the age of 29.

His death location is not certain. Several Ancestry.com family trees say it was in Santa Rosa. That could be simply because that is where he is buried. Other Ancestry.com family trees say he died in Rock Island, IL. And a newspaper in Audrain County, Missouri (200+ miles from Rock Island) says he died there on Sept 2, 1901.

In 1910, Kitty and the three children were still living in Santa Rosa.

In 1912, Kitty married Harry Alvin Pride. By 1920, Zenophan and Ethelyn had moved out, while Lorene was living with Kitty, Harry and their daughter, Jewell.
