Lancaster, Sept 27 - Dr. S.L. Strait died last night about 9 o'clock. He had been at his store all day as usual and in customary health. He went home about dark, and when about to retire for the night blew out the lamp and fell upon the floor and died immediately. He had eaten a hearty dinner, but a light supper. He died of heart disease. He had been aware of the fact of his heart being diseased for months and perhaps years before. Dr. Strait was a good and upright man, and useful not only to his church but as a member of society. He spoke out plainly and certainly in whatever he regarded as wrong and as tending to corrupt morals and the public interest. He had been an elder in the Presbyterian church for twenty years or longer. The church will miss him. He was faithful and always ready to do his part. A good man has fallen and this community know and fully appreciate his worth and loss.
