FORMER WEST NYACKER DIES AT MONTGOMERY
Frank A. Nickerson, formerly a resident of West Nyack, died at his home in Montgomery on Sunday. Mr. Nickerson for many years conducted a fruit and truck farm on the Strawtown Road in West Nyack and was particularly well known for the fine strawberries he raised. His real estate holdings were large at one time, but during the past few years, he disposed of some of his land. A large portion will also be taken over by the proposed reservoir.
Mr. Nickerson also had a picnic ground on his property along the Hackensack creek near the Old Mill Road. The place was frequented for many years by bathers from all parts of the township.
He is survived by his wife, Emma; five daughters, Mrs. Ellen May Babcock and Mrs. Amy Perry of West Nyack, Mrs. Ida Burns of Central Nyack, Mrs. Florence Johnson of New City Park, and Mrs. Jeanne Hester of New London, Connecticut; and eleven grandchildren.
Services will be held at Elim Tabernacle, Valley Cottage, Thursday at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
