Laveta Mary Adams, Earlham

Laveta Mary (Littrell) Adams, 84, of Earlham died March 22, 1998.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 26 at the Church of Christ in Earlham, with Pastor Steve Allison officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.

Laveta Adams was born Oct. 25, 1913, in Mendon, Mo., to Covia and Pearl (Brown) Littrell. She married Meridith Lucas Adams on Nov. 5, 1932. They lived in Missouri until 1936, when they moved to the DeSoto area to farm. In 1951, they moved to Earlham, farming until 1978, when they retired and stayed in Earlham. Laveta was a homemaker and helped in the fields and with the stock they raised. She also belonged to a canasta club and the Dizzy Dozen group.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six siblings and two grandsons.

She is survived by two daughters, JoAnn Sell (husband Jerry) and Jean Bruening (husband Richard); four sons, Merrill (wife Carolyn), Harold (wife Nancy), Darrell (wife Marilyn) and Leonard (wife Sharon); 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Kuhn Funeral Homes of Earlham.
