Ralph Edward Fields, 73 years, of Bryan, died Monday, April 12, 2010 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio.

Ralph was born February 19, 1937 in Carmi, Illinois to the late Opal and Lorene (Myers) Fields.

A Navy veteran, Ralph married Jean Ann Ewing on February 14, 1960 in Decatur, Illinois and she survives.

Ralph was a supervisor for AT&T Telephone Company for 29 years. He also was employed by H & R Block as a tax preparer for the past 19 years.

He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Bryan and the Superior Lodge #179 F & AM West Unity, Ohio. He was an avid golfer, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his wife, children, watching his grandchildren in their sporting activities.

Surviving is his wife, Jean of Bryan; children, Mark (Joni) Fields of Everett, Washington, Mike (Catrina) of Wauseon, Ohio and Martha (Gus) Hulbert of Bryan; six grandchildren, Jacob and Keith Hulbert, Kasey and Matthew Fields, Kyle and Megan Fields; one brother, Richard Fields of Springfield, Illinois.

His parents preceded him in death.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Ralph at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2010 in the Fellowship Hall of Wesley United Methodist Church, 903 Center Street, Bryan, with Pastor Paul Scannell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Professional services have been conducted by Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home and Crematory - Greenisen Chapel, 225 East High Street, Bryan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in the name of Ralph Edward Fields may be given to: Wesley United Methodist Church Awana Program, 903 Center Street, Bryan, Ohio 43506; Wauseon High School Girls Basketball Program, 840 Parkview Street, Wauseon, Ohio 43567; or the Bryan High School Wrestling Program, 150 South Portland Street, Bryan, Ohio 43506.
