Pvt. Alfred G. Thompson

Served with Co. A 4th Cal. Vol. Inf. during the Civil War of 1861-65. He came to California from Wisconsin in the late 1850s with his family and worked on the family farm until the call to save the Union was heard across the country and on July 7th 1863, he Enlisted in Co. A 4th Cal. Vol. Inf. for three years.

During the Civil War, his Regiment was stationed in The State of Nevada fighting Indians or at least chasing them around the Sliver state. After the War he settled down as a Farmer and that's what he did until his death on March 24th 1916 at 84 years of age.
