Bro. Jessie T. Andrews, Sr. was born September 4, 1927 in Spearsville, LA. to Jewell and Nora Andrews.

He attended a public school at Pleasant Hill Community School. He confessed Christ in his youth at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where he was a faithful and active member until the end.

He served as director of the choir, vice-president of the Union Parish Singing Convention for many years and the superintendent of Sunday School and served diligently at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

On September 20, 1944, he united in holy matrimnony to Miss Bobbie Ruth Key and to this union, fifteen children were born, nine girls and six boys. One daughter preceeded him in death, later Sis. Bobbie Ruth preceeded him in death.

September 2, 1992, he united in holy matrimony to Miss Bobbie Jean Dean and to this union, one child was adopted.

He leaves to mourn his passing: a loving wife, Mrs. Bobbie Jean Andrews; eight daughers, Mrs. Naomi J Rogers, Mrs. Margie N. Williams, Mrs. Martha A. Kendrix, Mrs. Mary J. Lewis, Mrs. Patsy A. Williams, Mrs. Sandra J. Hamilton, Mrs. Virginia Williams, and Miss Cynthia Andrews; seven sons, Charles Andrews, Tommy Andrews, Curlee Andrews, Jessie T. Andrews, Jr., Jeffrey Andrews, Gary Andrews, and Joey Andrews; twenty-six great-grandchildren.

He will also be missed by his father, Jewell Andrews, stepmother, Ruby Andrews; five sisters, Emma Lee Remmington, Mary Shaw, Grace Nell Smith, Josephine Caldwell, Jennifer Williams; three brothers, Benny, Elijah, and Roosevelt Andrews; two stepbrothers, Joe Jean Talley, Prezell Talley; one stepsister, Pearline Evans, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
