RITES TUESDAY
FOR J. PHILLIPS
Funeral services for Joe Phillips,69, of 5207 12th Street, Port Arthur, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Grammier-Oberle Funeral home chapel. The Rev. Arthur Howard, pastor of the Memorial Baptist Church where Mr. Phillips was a member, will officiate.

Mr. Phillips, a Neches Butane Products Company retiree, died Sunday at 3:45 p.m. in Doctor's Hospital in Groves after a lingering illness.

Burial will be in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches with Masonic graveside rites to be conducted by Cosmopolitan Lodge N0. 872, AF and AM of Port Arthur.

Mr. Phillips, a native Texan, retired from Neches Butane, Dec. 31, 1963 after having worked there since October, 1945. At the time he retired, Mr. Phillips, was a patrolman in the plant protection department of the company.
He was a member of Cosmpolitan Lodge and was a World War I veteran.

His wife, Mrs. Mary Phillips, died here Sept. 8, 1964.

Surviving Mr. Phillips are two daughters, Mrs. Riley Miller of Dallas and Mrs. Mary Louise Hyde of South Laguna, Calif., one stepdaughter, Mrs. Daniel Macha of Nederland, one step-son, James R. Garrett of Nederland; seven grandchildren seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a half-brother, Reese Miller of Crowley, Texas.
