Lewis graduated from Cass City High School and farmed his dad's farm until approximately 1964. While he was farming, he worked in several small factories on the side. He worked and retired from the Caro Regional Center, where he had been employed for approximately 20 years. He spent several winters in Florida, and in later years, he suffered from a lengthy illness and resided at Tendercare in Cass City. Following his retire- ment, Lewis spent much of his time at the Oasis for coffee. In early years, he had been a member of the Michigan Milk Producers and the State Retirees Association. He was a member of the Caro United Methodist Church.
He leaves behind his wife, Lois Ann (Thane) Livingston; three sons, David (Barb) Livingston of Zephyrhills, Florida, Terry (Merrina) Livingston of Palm Springs, California and Gaylin Livingston of Unionville; daughter-in-law, Cindy (Mike) Wildner of Unionville; four grandsons, Michael Livingston and Douglas (Shannon) Livingston, Daniel and David Wildner; one grand daughter, Stacy; two great-granddaughters, Brittany and Olivia Livingston; one great-grandson, Johnathon Livingston; sister-in-law, Doris Schwaderer of Big Rapids; six step-children, Deborah (Robert) Armstead of Unionville, Peg (Bill) Riley of Lake, Eric (Sue) Koepf of Farwell, Lisa Osborn of Caro, Celeste Koepf of Caro and Angela (Mike) McCleary of Eaton Rapids; twenty-three step- grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Dale Livingston; his first two wives, Lucille (Vader) Livingston and Laura Jean (Drake) Livingston; two sisters, Audrey Barrigar and Pauline Joiner.
The funeral service was held at the Caro United Methodist Church on Friday, March 26, 2010 at with Rev. Jerry Smith and Rev. Richard Barriger officiating.
