Charles Uriah Hamilton, 90, formerly of South Baltimore Avenue, Mt. Holly Springs, died Monday, Dec. 22, 1997 at Sarah Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle.
Born Nov. 9, 1907 in Adams County, he was a son of the late John and Barbara Powell Hamilton. He retired from the former Eaton-Dikeman Co., Mt. Holly Springs.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Elizabeth Riley Hamilton; six daughters, Ruth Reichert and Nellie Reynolds of York Springs, Margie Murray and Pearl Arnsberger of Mt. Holly Springs, Shirley Weidner and Patricia Griffie of Gardners; three sisters, Margarite Noel of McSherrystown, Jessie Noel of Bonneaville and Alice Kennedy of Gardners; 20 grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 14 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Charles U. Jr., and two brothers, Glenn and Raymond.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Gibson-Hollinger Funeral Home, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, with the Rev. Kenneth G. Swick officiating.
Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Gettysburg. Friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home.
