Beulah Allred Whiting, 82, of Pleasant Grove passed away suddenly on Monday, June 14, 2004.
She was born December 1, 1921 in Spring City, Utah to Cyrus Edward and Grace Brough Allred. She married Ben Earl Whiting on June 21, 1945 in the Manti LDS Temple.
Beulah grew up in Spring City and graduated from North Sanpete High School in 1940. She attended Snow College and received her Associates Degree in Business and was honored as Valedictorian of her graduating class. Beulah and Ben moved to Pleasant Grove in 1951 and raised their four children.
Beulah was active in civic affairs including: PTA, Federated Women's Club, and DUP. She was a devoted member of the LDS Church and served in many callings during her life and was instrumental in establishing the Spanish Name Extraction Program. She and Ben served an LDS Mission in Birmingham England in 1994-95. Some of the spiritual highlights of her life were serving in the London Temple and the endless hours she spent doing family history.
Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Ben; children: Peggy (Jerry) Baldwin, Salt Lake City; David Whiting, Ft. Collins, CO; Kay Olson, Pleasant Grove and Alan (Kathy) Whiting, Bountiful; 12 grandchildren and two great-grand-children.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 18, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Grove Ward Chapel, 455 East 200 South, Pleasant Grove. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Friday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
