Mr. Jilka was born 20 miles west of Salina. He farmed most of his life northwest of Salina until 1950 when he moved to Leavenworth. He returned to Salina in April, 1958. Mr. Jilka was a member of the Old People's Protective Order.
Surviving are the widow, Mabel G.; a son, Edward Jr.; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Tourville and Mrs. Glen Dyson; five grandchildren; two brothers, George and Milo; and four sisters, Mrs. Frank Pistora, Mrs. Cloyd Thomas, Mrs. Frank Kubitscheck and Mrs. Josephine Mason.
