James Irwin (Dee) Myers, 79, died Friday at the VA Hospital at Fort Harrison.

He lived in Belgrade all of his life until the last few years when he and his family moved to Bozeman. He was born in Menard, October 6, 1901, to Charles and Sarah Jane (Spatford) Myers.

He graduated from Gallatin County High School. He married Mary A. Breyer on November 8, 1950, at Helena. He served in England during World War II, and was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.

He ran the Montana Elevators at Menard and Accola. He worked last as a custodian in the school Dist. No. 44 in Belgrade.

He belonged to the Belgrade Federated Church and was active with the Boy Scouts in Belgrade.

He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, two sisters, nieces and nephews.

Survivors include his wife, three sons, John E. Myers of San Francisco, Calif., and David and Richard Myers of Bozeman; a daughter, Mrs. Brad (Sarah) Weir of Belgrade, a brother, Elbert Myers of Modesto, Calif., seven grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, at 2 p.m. at the Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel.

Burial will be at the Sunset Hills Cemetery. Arrangements are being made by Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service.
