THE HENRY BULLETIN, Martinsville, Va., Fri., Feb. 16, 1934, p. 2, col. 7 [edited]. Miss Alice Lankford, 17-year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lankford, east of Martinsville, passed away at her parental home early Tuesday morning following several weeks illness. Death was due to typhoid fever. Funeral services were held from Beckham Methodist Church, near Irisburg Wednesday. Interment followed in the church cemetery nearby. Surviving are the parents and the following brothers and sisters: Messrs. Troy, Willie and John H. Lankford, Misses Nina, Beulah, Isabel, Oradel, Bernice, Jennie and Erline Lankford, all of this community. The deceased moved to this section from Stokes County, N.C., about 15 years ago with her parents to live.
