He was the son of John and Margaret Seyler who came here from Pennsylvania in early days and settled near Lyndon, Kans., where Edward Benton Seyler was born in 1871. He was united in marriage to Jessie Irene Hobbs in March 1902. To this union was born five children. His wife preceded him in death on March 19, 1919. He had lived in this community fifty years. Mr. Seyler had been in poor health about fifteen years.

He is survived by two sons and two daughters, Mrs. Dessa Brindel, Portland, Ore., Mrs. Lena Dilts, Edward Seyler and Thomas Seyler, LeLoup, Kans. Besides his children he leaves to mourn his loss three granddaughters, two at LeLoup and one at Portland, Ore., also one sister and three brothers, Mrs. Elizabeth Floyd, Harmon, Okla., Frank Seyler, Wellsville, Samuel Seyler, LeLoup, and T.C. Seyler, Lyndon, Kans.
