Allie Ray Chipman,85, of Boyne City, passed away Wednesday, November 15,2000, at Charlevoix Area Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 18, at First Presbyterian Church in Boyne City with Rev. Milton G. Walls officiating.
Allie was born March 3, 1915 in Boyne City, the son of Alex and Blanche(Chase)Chipman. He grew up in Boyne City and after school he worked for East Jordan Iron Works and Parker Motor Freight in the machine shop and as a truck driver.
On November 14, 1934 he married Beatrice Sickles. She preceded him in death on December 4,1991.
In 1946, Mr. Chipman founded Chipman Plumbing and Heating, where he had worked ever since.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, life member of Boyne City Masonic Lodge where he also served as past master and member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Allie also served on the Boyne City City Council. He was a hard worker and could always be found on the job or working in the shop. In his later years, he and his wife enjoyed traveling.
