Edward H. (Pee-Wee) Casey

Funeral services for Mr. Edward Casey will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011, at 11:00a.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Rev. Ed Ridge will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Driver Cemetery with Masonic Graveside Rites.
Visitation will be held on Friday with the family present from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Casey passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Garden Villa Nursing Home in El Campo.

He was born on March 8, 1928, in Mexia to Walter Howard and Willie Earl Casey. He grew up in the Clay Hill community near Teague. Mr. Casey began his career in the oil field at the age of sixteen and remained until his diabetes forced him into retirement in 1974. He married Luella Bodungen in 1947 and shared some twenty-four years together until being separated by her death in 1971. Mr. Casey married Opal Stiles in 1977 and shared some thirty-one years together before being separated by her death in 2009. Most of Mr. Casey's life was spent in El Campo, which he considered his home. He was an ordained Deacon and a member of Memorial Baptist Church in El Campo for over fifty-years. He also was active at Round Prairie Baptist Church in Fairfield when he & Opal briefly resided in Freestone County before returning to El Campo. Mr. Casey was a member of El Campo Masonic Lodge #918 for over fifty years.

He is survived by two sons, David Howard Casey & wife Sandy of Richwood and James Edward Casey & wife Mary Nell of Bastrop; two daughters, Kathy Orsak of Edna and Rita Gann & husband Glenn of El Campo; thirteen grandchildren, Shanelle Henson & husband Buck, Jade Casey & wife Amber, Destiny Boatman, Lisa Harlien & husband Chris, Chrystal Suarez & husband Gabriel, Ranee Kisamore & James, Justin Casey & wife Summer, Ashley DeShay & husband Murrey, Brenda Smith & husband David, Leslie Alexander & husband Bob, Jason Adams & wife Sally, Jody Stavena & husband Tommy, and Travis Gann & wife Jennyfer; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Johnnie Walker of Teague; one brother-in-law, Carl Jones of Belton; one sister-in-law, Darlene Long & husband Marvin of Manvel; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Casey was preceded in death by two wives, his parents, and two sisters, Sue Jones and Sally Morton.
