Funeral services for Mrs. Opal Casey of El Campo were held on Monday, May 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Interment followed the service at Driver Cemetery. Bro. Ed Ridge officiated. Mrs. Casey was born April 25, 1931 in Brady TX., and passed away May 7, 2009 in Sugar Land. She married Edward Casey on August 26, 1977, and shared almost thirty-two years together. Mrs. Casey worked as a LVN for over forty years at various hospitals and nursing homes, including the Teague Nursing Home and Fairview Manor in Fairfield. Mrs. Casey was a member of Round Prairie Baptist Church in Fairfield for many years before moving her membership to Memorial Baptist Church in El Campo. She taught Sunday school and was involved in other ladies ministries at both churches. Mrs. Casey was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star in El Campo. She is survived by her husband, Edward Casey of El Campo; two step-sons, David Casey & wife Sandy of Richwood and James Casey & wife Mary of Cedar Creek; two step-daughters, Kathy Orsak of Edna, TX., and Rita Gann & husband Glenn of El Campo; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; "Daughter in love", Roberta Klimple of El Campo; mother-in-law, Willie Earl Casey of Teague; two brothers, Vernon Stiles of Alaska and Richard Stiles & wife Jeanette of Rochelle, TX.; one sister, Lola Jurkavich of Wallace, Idaho;one sister-in-law, Johnnie Walker of Teague; other relatives and friends. Mrs. Casey was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Earl and Lola Carter Stiles; one brother, James Stiles; and one sister, Bernice House.
