According to a story relayed from Isaac Napoleon Rainbolt to Earl Brown, author of the Joseph Rainbolt genealogy book: Under the name Eliza Jane P. Rainbolt, individual# 1284, in the Rainbolt Book:
George Douglas Rainbolt, and wife, on a forced march during the Civil War.... going into Missouri... where old Isaac Rainbolt died in 1865.. During the night, his sons buried him along side of the road....
