NEWBERG – Funeral services for John David Sullivan, aged 80 years and a resident here for the past two decades, will be held at Smith Funeral chapel at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
He died Monday, ending an extended illness. The son of Peter F. and Lydia Sullivan, he was born near Pierce City, Mo., on March 27, 1877.
On March 6, 1909, he married Laura E. McNew at Indianapolis, Ind. They farmed near Alva, Oklah. From 1910 until they came here in 1937. He worked for Hudson House, Inc., at Dundee, retiring from that employment some 10 years ago.
Besides Mrs. Sullivan he leaves their three daughters, Genevieve Thornton and Velma Rowland, of Newberg, and Imogene Ludvoksen, of Portland; their five sons, Muret, Everett, Cecil and Jerry, all of Newberg, and Arthur of Cottage Grove; and his two brothers, Ore E. in Kansas and Junius O. in Oklahoma. There also are 13 grandchildren, one step-grandchild and five great grandchildren.
Rev. H.C. Moore of First Baptist church will officiate at the services. Vault interment will be in Valley View memorial park.
