OBITUARY: Holyoke Daily Transcript newspaper, 4 April 1955, and in the Washington Post, Washington, D.C., 6 April 1955.
Mrs. Howard Thomas. Mrs. Beatrice (King) Thomas, wife of Howard Thomas of Nebraska Ave., Washington, D.C., died Sunday in her home at the age of 56 and after a long period of illness. She was born in Holyoke, May 24, 1898, daughter of the late James and Martha (Willetts) King and received her education in the local schools. Mrs. Thomas was a member of the First Presbyterian Church here until leaving for Washington 26 years ago, where she had since made her home.
Her survivors, besides her husband, are two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Landry in Germany and Miss Dorothy Thomas of Washington; two sons, Richard and Howard of Washington; two sisters, Mrs. William P. Sibley and Mrs. Margaret Peterson King, both of this city, and one brother, James W. King, of this city.
The body of Mrs. Thomas will arrive in Holyoke Thursday morning, and friends may call at the Martin funeral home Thursday morning from 10to 12:30 pm. Funeral services will take place Thursday afternoon in the First Presbyterian Church. Rev. Roland R. Young will officiate. Burial will be in the Forestdale Cemetery.
