An Irish British army officer and historian, best known as the brother of the author and professor C. S. Lewis. He was one of the initial Inklings, wrote French history, and served as his brother's secretary in his later years. C. S. called "Warnie" his "dearest and closest friend." He is buried in the same grave as his brother at Holy Trinity Church.
