From the May 12, 1924 issue of the Illinoian-Star newspaper:
Adaline Sheldon Smith was born June 9, 1837, at Rochester, N.Y. and died at her late home in Beardstown, Saturday, May 10th 1924. At an early age she came to LaMoille, Ill., with her parents where she resided for many years. On July 5th 1858, she was married to Franklin Luther Angier, who preceded her in death several years ago. Nine children were born to them, the following of whom are now living. Mrs. C.S. Sperry of Aurora, Ill., Carl E., Earl E., Charles A., of this city and Dana F. of Chicago. Mrs. Angier was a member of the Congregational Church and a charter member of the Eastern Star. Charitable and just, she has no enemies but many friends who will bless her memory knowing full well the world is better because she lived in it. Although, related to her by no ties of blood the writer will always remember Mrs. Angier as not only a tender loving, self-denying mother, but as kind to hime as an own mother could possibly be, and it is with the deepest love and gratitude these lines are penned.
