Beulah Beasley Smith, age 101, died Tuesday, April 20, 2010, in Jackson, MS.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 23, 2010, at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Byron Green officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 AM on Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith was born in Rockport, MS in Copiah County on November 7, 1908 to the late William M. and Alice Farmer Beasley. She was married to the late Edward Ephriam Smith for 52 years. Mrs. Smith was devoted to caring for her family. She was also a devoted long-time member of First Baptist Church of Jackson. She was a member of the Esther Sunday School and the WMU. She taught Sunday school classes for over 65 years and taught the "Training Union". She still played an active role at the church all the way into her 90's.

Survivors include her son, Dr. Edward E. Smith and his wife, Margie of Terry, MS; a daughter, Dorothy Alice Smith Green and her husband, Curlee of Jackson, MS; three grandchildren, Rev. Byron Green and his wife, Michelle of Brandon, Suzanne Newell of Ridgeland and Brandon Green and his wife, Lauren of Brandon; and two great grandchildren, Alex and William Green.

Memorials may be made to Esther Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church of Jackson, P.O. Box 250 Jackson, MS 39205.
