Clarence Milburn "Mel" Rogers, 78, of Woodland, Calif., died June 15 in Woodland.

He was born Dec. 17, 1924, in Greybull. He moved to Cheyenne to work for Burlington Trailways Bus Lines in 1945.

Mr. Rogers entered the Navy in 1946 and served for four years during World War II and then served in the Naval Reserve for 21 years.

He also worked as a civil servant for 30 years at F.E. Warren AFB, starting as a shuttle bus driver and last working as a maintenance supervisor.

In 1948, he met and married Kathleen Stewart.

Mr. Rogers was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral where he did volunteer work, VFW and American Legion.

He moved to Woodland more than two years ago to live with his niece and her husband in their care home for seniors, Rainbow House.

Mr. Rogers is survived by a son, William Rogers; a brother, John Rogers of Reno, Nev.; a sister, Wanda Milligan of Modesto, Calif.; two grandsons; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and his many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Rogers; his father, Thomas A. Rogers; his mother, Hazel Rogers; his stepmother, Mary Rogers; and a sister, Evelyn Rogers.
