Former Landerite Dies
Lander - Services for Melville Dwight Baldwin, 35, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Episcopal Church, with the Rev. William Cross officiating.
Baldwin died Friday in Las Vegas of an apparent heart attack.
He was born Sept. 3, 1943, at Billings, Mont., the son of Mr. and Mrs. M.D. (Pinky) Baldwin. He is a descendant of pioneer settlers in Lander. His grandfather established the Baldwin Clothing Store, the oldest one-family business in the Rocky Mountain area.
On April 15, 1972, he married the former Susan Goodrich at Lander. He was a sales manager for an auto agency in Cody. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1965-69.
He was a member of the Lander Masonic Lodge No. 2 and the Masonic Consistory.
Survivors include his wife, Susan; one daughter, both of Cody; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M.D. Baldwin of Dubois; one brother, Byron, Cody.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, with Masonic graveside rites by the Lander Masonic Lodge No. 2.
The Henry Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Memorials to the Masonic Lodge roofing fund or the Shrine Crippled Children's Hospital will be equally appreciated by the family.
