Johann Bernard Schoborg was born Nov 7, 1826 in Hastrup, Osnabruck, Niedersachsen, Germany, to Joannes Hermanus Dirk Schoborg and Maria Elisabetha Stolle, married Maria Catharina Fullenkamp on Nov 27, 1856 and died in Hastrup April 7, 1914. He and Maria had 8 children: Heinrich Theodor, Herman Theobald (the Iowa Schoborgs knew him as Hermann Franz), Maria Theresa (Lins), Catharina Elisabeth (Dwenger), Maria Margaretha (Berstermann), Caspar Heinrich, Gerhard Franz and Maria Catharina Elisabeth (Kunkel).
Johann had 3 brothers:
Johann Jurgen Berndt Schoborg, born April 1, 1819 - emigrated to the U.S to Kentucky.
Joannes Theodorus (Dirk) Schoborg, born Jul 31, 1824 - emigrated to Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky.
Joannes Casparus Schoborg, born Sep 1829 and died January 26, 1830 in Hastrup.
